Where Found Things Become Something Else

A Shared Art Practice

Cipher Art is the result of a shared life and a long creative evolution. As partners for over twenty years, we’ve moved through different mediums: poetry, photography, collage, and graphic design- each one leaving its mark on how we build, layer, and tell stories. Our current work in sculpture isn’t a departure, but a natural extension of everything that came before.

We work with what’s been left behind. Cast-off materials, fragments of the past, objects that have lost their original purpose; these become the foundation of our assemblage pieces. Through reuse and reinvention, we create sculptures that feel both ancient and newly discovered, shaped as much by the materials as by our own hands.

There’s a thread of mythology, creature-making, and quiet strangeness running through everything we do. Our work lives in that space where whimsy meets mystery, where something might feel playful at first glance, but carries a deeper, more curious story underneath.
